Save Windows XP! The clock is ticking

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Microsoft will end OEM and shrink-wrapped sales of Windows XP on June 30, 2008, forcing users to shift to Vista. (System builders, meaning those who do white-box PCs, can sell XP through December 31.) Don’t let that happen!

Gmail not loading?

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Recently Gmail has not been loading correctly and just shows a blank screen even when using Gmail notifier!

Quick fix:
Change the http://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1# to
https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#

Google Gmail just loads a blank page quick fix!

Or use one of these links:
https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=1 (for the “old” interface)
https://mail.google.com or https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1 (for
the “new” interface)
https://mail.google.com/mail/ (if you’re unsure about the
interface)
https://mail.google.com/mail/?nocheckbrowser (if your browser is
not fully compatible)
https://mail.google.com/mail/s/ (if you want the ‘Standard with
Chat’ mode)
https://mail.google.com/mail/h/ (if you prefer the HTML version)
https://mail.google.com/mail/x/ (if you prefer the ‘Standard
without Chat’ mode; don’t know whether this still works)

Symptoms:
After clicking Sign in, a blank white page is shown. You may see “Loading…” or “This seems to be taking longer than usual.”

Cause:
A conflict with software on your computer, browser cache that needs to be cleared, or a temporary problem on the Gmail server.

Solution:
Follow the instructions in the link!

Sharp MX copier printer goes offline

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

One of our Sharp MX MultiFunction Printer / Scanner / Fax / Copier (MX3501N) went offline on the network today, because it required Maintenance (FK3), it still works fine though and all that is needed to get it back online, until a technician arrives, is to untick “SNMP status”

Sharp MX-3501N copier printer goes offline

Start > Printers > right click the offlined MX printer > click Properties > Configure port > Untick SNMP status
